The Maldives: Like no place on earth
The Maldives consists of 26 atolls that spread over 90,000 square kilometers. They have 1,192 islands, of which only 1,000 are uninhabited.
Yesterday my husband and I arrived in the Maldives. This is my 3rd time to this exotic place filled with thousands of islands placed perfectly on crystal clear blue waters. This is the place to relax and unwind on white finely ground sand and watch the fish in the shallow water. The flight from Sri Lanka is just under an hour.
I first visited this place with my family in the early 1990’s and then again with friends on spring break in the late 1990’s. It always has been and still is a very peaceful place.
