Yala National Park: Home of the leopard

If you are interested in seeing leopards and a wide variety of other animals, Yala is the place to be. For more information, please visit the Sri Lanka Tourism Board. You will travel in a real safari vehicle with an experienced driver. If you can only go to one national park in Sri Lanka, Yala is a must. The park covers 979 square kilometers and is home to 215 bird species. This park has some of the highest leopard densities in the world. While on safari, you are not allowed to leave the vehicle except when on break at the beach area within the park. There are plenty of opportunities to take photos and the driver will point out the animals to you. Here are all the animals we saw on this trip:
