The Cultural Triangle is a not-to-be-missed attraction packed with ancient cities and temples that were built as far back at the 1st century B.C. This are covers as far south as Kandy, as far north as Anuradhapura, and as far east as Polonnaruwa. Sigiriya and Dambulla is approximately in the center.

We met our driver Rechie in Kandy who gave us an awesome, out of this world 10-day tour.  This was going to save us a lot of time as I needed to revisit these places to finish Beautiful Eye.  The train ride from Fort Railway Station to Kandy trails you through mountains, tea plantations, and rice patty fields.  Kandy was the last ancient capital rules by kings. This capital was established in 1592. After Rechie picked us up in Kandy, we had lunch and toured around Kandy a bit till he took us to a home-stay.  The next day we saw some Hindu temples and a spice garden before we made our way to Anuradhapura and then to Polonnaruwa. On our way back to Kandy, we saw some cave temples.
