Why Stay at Kandooma

Ever stayed on a private island at a resort?  Looking to extend your trip in south Asia or go island hoping in the Indian ocean?  Then look no further than the Maldives.  The Maldives is just a 50 minute flight from Sri Lanka.

While my husband and I were in Sri Lanka last year to finish my memoir Beautiful Eye, we decided to take a short vacation over to the Maldives.  And why not?  It’s a short flight and we did not need a visa.  This was my 3rd trip to the Maldives.

Getting to Your Private Island

We choose the Holiday Inn Kandooma because it was only an hour away by speed boat and not outrageously expensive like some of the others.  Most resorts in the Maldives have their own private island.  From the moment the Holiday Inn staff picked us up at the airport to the day they dropped us back, we received 5 star impeccable service.  The island is big enough to get lost and has lots of walking trails.  The snorkeling lessons are free and there is a large swimming pool with a waterfall right on the beach.  Why not make the Holiday Inn Kandooma one of the places you stay at in south Asia?maldives-india-sri-lanka-map maldives-map
